HOW TO RESTRICT PARTICULAR SITES AND ALLOW OTHERS

Windows has a feature which can help you restrict your browser from accessing some sites.  The question is why would you want to do that?

Of course there are many reasons;
1.  You maybe someone who does not like to view erotic images/ videos, sites where scammers do adverts just to scam you,
2.     or just want to focus every time you are browsing without being redirected,
3.     or you share your computer with your kids or younger ones and wouldn’t want them to access certain websites,
4.     or you have a network that is used by minors.
These and other reasons can make you want to setup which sites you trust (Trusted sites) and which you want to restrict (Restricted sites)
Now that you know why you need this, let us look at how to do this.

To get started,

Ø Go to control panel on your computer (this is found on your start menu, the right side as shown in the screen shot below)

When you are in your control panel make sure you set your view to large icons like mine is (shown in the screen shot below) this will help you find “Internet Options” easily.

Ø  Click “Internet Options” as indicated by the red box in the screenshot above
Ø  After clicking “Internet Options” the Internet Properties Window will appear as shown below

Ø Now go to the security tab in the internet properties window and you will see this (screen shot below)

Ø Next, to add the sites you want to permit access click on “Trusted sites” then click on “Sites” (as indicated by my big red arrow in the screenshot below)

Ø You will be provided by a “Trusted site” dialogue box (as shown on the screenshot below)

Ø Next, type in the URL of the website you want to grant access e.g. www.google.com into the box (indicated by my big red arrow above) and click the “add” button.
Ø Done! That site has been added, and you will be granted access by your browser always.

Adding Restricted Sites
Ø Still under your security tab click “Restricted Sites” (as shown in the screenshot below)

Ø The “Restricted sites” dialogue box will appear (as shown below)

Ø Next type the URL of the site you want to restrict access into the box e.g. www.homeincomeflow.com (as indicated by my big red arrow) and click the add button.
Ø Done! That is it and your browser will never grant you access to this site.

I hope this helped, if you have any questions you are free to ask, place your comments here.
