Maintain Your PC

Today we shall be looking at how to maintain your pc, in a complete sense. That is I will be giving you all a complete guide to maintaining your pc.

Firstly why is system maintenance necessary?
Just like your body system or car need to be cared for, your computer needs care also. So it’s like doing the regular oil change done to a motor car. It even goes beyond this, it helps to free up hard disk space on your system, get rid of unwanted programs, delete temporary files and optimize your system.

Now that you know the importance of system maintenance let’s look at how it can be done. This information am giving to you is actually what engineers charge you between five and ten thousand naira for.

As we all know the internet is flooded with tips and advice on PC cleaning. Much of this advice urges you to buy useless programs that cost hundreds of naira or dollars as the case may be. Look no further: you can follow the guide and get your PC cleaned without spending any money whatsoever. I do recommend programs, which have paid upgrades; however, I am confident these programs, when upgraded, are worth every penny and hundreds of Windows Guides readers (and I’m sure others) agree with me.

Let’s get right into things; to clean and maintain your PC you need to apply the following steps:
         I.      Create a system restore point to protect you from unwanted changes.
        II.      Backup your data.
III.      Keep Windows and installed software up to date.
      IV.      Find and remove malware.
       V.      Uninstall unnecessary programs.
      VI.      Delete junk/temporary files.
     VII.      Optimize your system.
   VIII.      Defragment your hard drive.

Recall that in my write-up yesterday, I treated System Defragmentation. Tomorrow we shall look at number one on this list i.e. creating a system restore point to protect you from unwanted changes. And so we will continue until we exhaust this topic completely.
